By listening to what a man says, it seems that we get an idea of his nature and substance. It is not by deed alone that we can measure a man’s substance. This principle is best shown in a job interview or any kind of interview. Through an interview the interviewer may gain a substantial assessment of the assets of the interviewee. Interviews are so essential in the job hiring process that the employer can choose a good candidate over a not so good interviewee even if he or she has a more competitive resume.

Job interview is not a mere question and answer session. In an interview, words and attitudes are important. When your attitudes and words had been combined together for the employer’s assessment, a mirror of your values will come into view. The values that you have shown will be the pointers for assessment of the employer. Ideally, the desired values that an employer would likely see in his or her employees are courtesy, self-reliance and professionalism.

Courtesy: Courtesy is basic. It is the first value that an employer would seek from the applicants. Moreover, courtesy is the first thing that is expected from you when you go inside the office. An employer would not need a word from you to see if you are courteous enough to be hired. Simple gestures count. Gestures such as sitting properly and offering a hand shake are signs of being courteous. And of course, don’t forget to give that winning smile.

Self Reliance:Building up the confidence of the employer towards you is a vital job interview skill. If you are asked to tell something about yourself, you can take this chance to show your employer that you know yourself well. In knowing yourself, you are more equipped to handle and manage yourself well. Be confident enough to tell the employer of your strengths and be humble enough to tell the employer your weaknesses.

Professionalism:Professionalism means doing what you say and saying what you do. You have to be there on time for the job interview. To show to the employer that you have a good level of professionalism, tell something about your job experiences. Or you may tell something about any organization that you have been through and tell the kind of participation that you have done in that organization. Be confident to say that you can deliver the output on time.

Choosing the kind of job that you land on for the rest of your life is a vital decision. Being happy with your job would influence your level of satisfaction. If you are satisfied with your life, you are likely to be happy.
